Art is powerful; and, perhaps more importantly, it’s incredibly intimidating.  “I can’t draw; I have no artistic ability,” seems to be a statement uttered almost daily by those who are not ‘in the club.’  But, art, specifically visual art such as painting, drawing, or other types, is essentially an exercise in self-assessment and self-expression.  And, I believe (along with C.G. Jung) that the more you probe the inner parts of your own soul, the more creativity is realeased into your consciousness, thereby allowing you to express yourself in ways you never have before.

I am not under the impression that my paintings are ‘technically’ marvelous, or even slightly ‘good.’  But, I am sure that in each one I was able to channel a deep part of myself and express that which is un-expressable through the medium of paint.
